Large fire damages several companies in the Piqua Commercial Building

The crews came to a large fire with flames through the roof. Due to the extent of the fire, the crews mainly used defensive measures and air equipment to fight the flames.

No injuries were reported.

One of the business suites was a total loss and the adjacent suites had water and smoke damage, said Schmitz.

The fire brigades Troy, Sidney, Covington, Fletcher and Lockington provided mutual help.

The cause of the fire is examined. Foul is not suspected.

In a social media contribution, Winans Coffee & Chocolate said that the headquarters and the warehouse building were damaged in the home office. The nearby chocolate factory and the coffee roaster were not damaged.

“Today we will pick up the pieces,” says the explanation. “Everything will be fine with Winans and we will find the way forward.”
