Leck can affect the water service in parts of Collegetown

Ithaca, NY – The construction workers in the city repair on Thursday in the 400 block of the Eddy Street, which can close this part of the street and influence the water pressure nearby.

The work started on Thursday around 8 a.m. and is expected to be all day afternoon all day. The repairs are carried out in the region of the Eddy Street between the Williams Street and the Buffalo Street, as shown below. The local and emergency access remains while the road is closed.

According to the city's announcement, the water service can be interrupted, while the water head is repaired, which can lead to low or no water pressure for the nearby residents.

If the water service is returned and the work has been completed, the household water can be brown or rust colors. In this case, the residents are encouraged to operate cold water in their bathtubs until the water flow eliminates. The use of hot water during this time could damage the hot water from a house.
