Leeds Road closures for the St. Patrick's Day Parade of the City

Several streets in the city center of Leeds are to be closed to St. Patrick's Day on Sunday. The drivers were warned.

According to the volunteers, the parade was expected to include swimmers from schools, bands and group groups behind the event.

From the Millennium Square around 11:00 GMT, the parade in the Great George Street stood on its way before returning the Park Row and returning to the Boar Lane across the Vicar Lane and the headstrasse, the organizers said.

The affected roads were closed between 10:00 and 13:00 GMT, added.

The affected streets include:

  • The head row
  • Parking row
  • Boar
  • Duncan Street
  • New market road
  • Vicar Lane
  • Albion Street
  • Great George Street

This year's parade would collect money for the St. Gemma Hospice, an independent charity organization that provides people in Leeds at the end of life, the organizers said.

The event was supported by the city council of Leeds and the emigrant support program of the government of Ireland.

The organizers thanked the Irish organizations of Leeds, who supported the parade and the employees of the event and the highway team of the city council of Leed.
