Letter to the publisher: The residents based in Parsippany calls on ethics examinations

Dear publisher:

I write to express my outrage about what I read about public security in Justin Musella's press release. His obvious abuse of office for personal profit is absolutely disgusting.

After Justin and his wife were promoted on the demand that Mayor Barberio was promoted against the speed of the neighborhood at a meeting of the public community, they were accelerated in the same neighborhood! He admitted to the officer that he had “pushed” his wife. Then he handed his official business card of the community to the officer to get his wife out of a speed ticket. It worked – his wife was drained with a warning – and everything was recorded on video.

The fact that Justin used his chosen office to get his wife out of a speed ticket is as illegal as it is shocking. The Ethics Act of the Local Administration is forbidden that city officials use their elected office to win for themselves and others who are otherwise not available for normal citizens. This law, which can be found at NJSA 40A: 9-22.5, is clear that “no local government official or employee should use his official position or try to secure unjustified privileges or advantages for yourself or others”.

Justin clearly prohibits the law of using his position as a member of the Township Council to get his wife out of a speed ticket, just like the mayor or another elected municipal officer would be forbidden to do so. I am personally insulted that Justin has such a selfish behavior that violates the trust that the residents of the community put him in him when they chose him as office.

Justin's illegal and suspicious behavior must be addressed. I ask that the Township Council spends a formal criticism at its next meeting, in which it clearly states that it does not tolerate Justin's abuse of his chosen office. In addition, the township Council should instruct a formal ethics complaint to be submitted to the Department of Local Administration. Since Justin clearly believes that the law does not apply to him, the video evidence for his behavior should be forwarded to the general prosecutor's office in order to obtain further investigations.

Only by censorship by Justin and the transfer of his behavior to the suitable authorities for a complete investigation can the municipal council assure the residents of Parsippany that it protects public trust and that the municipality places on its own personal and political agendas.
