LFD speaks to grass fire that has destroyed a home

Laredo, Tex. (KGNS) -New pictures show the consequences of a grass fire that led to the total loss of a West -Laredo house.

The fire occurred on Friday afternoon, March 14th, in the 2500 block of the Geronimo loop.

According to officials, the fire spread throughout the region, lit the vegetation and helps to fill up the flames.

Hernan Martinez from the Laredo fire brigade explained how one thing quickly led to the other.

“Due to the strong winds and the low humidity, it could spread along the stream and reach the 2500 block and a palm tree on fire.

No injuries were reported and the fire remains examined.
