Penn State's former football safety protection, Jaylen Reed, proved to be a reliable college playmaker if it was most necessary.

What did he show NFL employees at the Scouting Combine this week?

Reed performed for the college football playoff Nittany Lions last year and anchored the secondary school after all-America teammate and colleague KJ Winston were lost early against injuries.

Reed delivered 98 duels (including 6.5 for losses, 2.5 sacks) and three clutch interceptions as senior-one team leaders. One of his ints sent the USC game to the extension, another he returned to break up the game in Wisconsin.

While Reed does not have the size or speed of a high level to be a top draft pick, he is an instinctive, accomplished defender who could earn a long NFL career that begins in special teams. At the end of April, he takes a selection with medium to late authorized draft in Green Bay in Green Bay.

He is one of five Penn State players at NFL Combine in Indianapolis and joins Winston, the defensive end Abdul Carter, the narrow end of Tyler Warren and the Linebacker Kobe King.

Here is Reed for the workouts and tests on Friday:

Reed carried out the necessary medical exams and team interviews on Wednesday and Thursday. On Friday it was measured with a shadow over 5-foot 11 and 211 pounds with 30 3/8-inch arms and 9-inch hands.

Reed teared two impressive 40-yard terms with 4.50 seconds and 4.49, with eighth place on Friday under all fuses.

His 33.5-inch vertical jump was in the middle of the pack, but its 1.51-second-yard split for third place was under the security reasons.

Reed helped Penn State's Pro Day on March 28th and the NFL design at the end of April. His 40-yard-dash best of 4.49 seconds could help to consolidate it at least as a center of the design choice. Even on the second day of the draft in Green Bay, Wisconsin, he was able to get into the third round.

Previously, according to NFL Draft Buzz, Reed had recently been set in the 40-yard fitting board with 4.50 seconds.
