Linky criminal with 4 pistols, cartridges snapped

In a major approach to illegal arms trade, the Jalandhar police arrested a habitual perpetrator in the possession of four illegal pistols and 12 laps near the Chowk workshop. The operation led by the CIA team under the supervision of the police commissioner Dhanpreet Kaur has made criminal networks in the region a significant blow.

Commissioner Kaur said that the accused Sukhwant Singh, alias Sukha Shekho, a resident of the village of Dhirpur, was intercepted when he went towards Burlton Park to commit a crime.

On a hint, the Singh police arrested and put the illegal firearms and ammunition back from his possession. After his arrest, a FIR was registered in the police station in the police station under Sections 25 (1) -B, 54 and 59 of the Weapons Act.

Singh was then presented in front of the court that gave pre -trial detention for further investigations.

Further inquiries have shown the extensive criminal background of Singh, with several cases as part of the Weapons Act, the NDPS law and serious crimes such as attempting murder and criminal conspiracy to be registered against him.

“His activities have extended in the districts of Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala and Tarn Taran. We are now investigating its possible connections to larger arms smuggling networks and organized crime syndicates,” said police officers.

Commissioner Kaur confirmed the commitment of the police to remove illegal weapons and to ensure public security. “The Jalandhar police will continue their action against criminal elements to maintain law and order,” she said.

“The investigation has not yet been completed to identify other people associated with this illegal operation,” she added.
