Local 4-H air rifle/pistol teams successfully at MATCH | News, sports, jobs

The 4-H shooter of the 4-H shooter, Zachary Corgen, competes in the air pistol during the 4-hour rifle/pistol game by Ward County.

The 4-H-Air rifle/pistol game in Ward County took place on February 8th at the North Dakota State Fairgrounds and organized 36 young people from six counties, including 14 participants from Ward County. This year's game had a significant growth and rose from 28 participants and five counties in the previous year.

According to age, the participants were classified in beginners (8 to 10 years), Junior (11 to 13) and senior (14 to 18). The competitors used sports rifles and shot pellets of the .177 caliber at a speed of 600 fps or less. Beginners shot from a seating position from a bank, while juniors and seniors started in three positions: stand, kneel and susceptible. The match also contained unique categories such as precision practice, athlete, continued growth, 40-shot recognition, precision 40 and air pistol.

The results for Ward County participants from the game are as follows:

Senior Air Pistol Division: First place – Olivia Jansen, Minot (score: 494, with six x); Second place – Land Jansen, Minot (score: 494, with three x); Third place – Zachary CORKEN, Minot (score: 458); Fourth place – Alyssa Korgel, Minot (score: 417); Team result – L. Jansen, O. Jansen, A. Korgen and Z. Korgel took first place with a combined score of 1446.

Senior Precision 40-promoting Division: Second Platz-Kiley Whillock, Kenmare (number of points: 376).

Junior Sporter Stand Division: Second place – Nolan Lee, Sawyer (score: 252).

Junior Sporter Dreilposition Division: First place Jase Schilla, Makoti (score: 435); Second place – Lee (score: 378).

Beginner -Porter -Bench -Division: Second place -Kayla Whillock, Kenmare (score: 547); Sixth place – Zane Lee, Sawyer (score: 487); Eighth place – Dayton McMillan, Max (score: 457); Neez Square – Ella McMillan, Max (score: 453); Xavier Lee von Sawyer was also represented in Ward County; Team result – Lee, D. McMillan, E. McMillan and Whillock took second place with a combined score of 1,491
