Lopes Sweep Homecoming Match Friday

Grand Canyon (6-5) returned to your home stylishly and excluded New Mexico (6: 6) with a 4-0 win on Friday in the GCU tennis facility.

The Lopes stated the tone early in the double game and swept all three dishes to reach the first point of the game. Karina Hofbauer And Gala Arangio led the indictment with a crucial 6-1 win in court 1. Bella Crossman And Dania Deaifi secured the colon with a tight 7-5 victory on Court 2 during Peyton Duckett And Angelina Mihajlovic Add a 6-4 win on Court 3.

Hofbauer carried her momentum in singles and scored a 6-1, 6-2 victory in court 1 to increase the GCU 2-0. Crossman followed with an efficient 6: 1, 6: 2 victory on Court 4, and Deaifi scored the game with a dominant 6: 4, 6: 0 performance on Court 3.

With the secured team victory, three singles games remained unfinished. Arangio fought on Court 2 after winning the first set 6-4, but remained 0: 5 in second place. Mihajlovic was in a close competition on Court 5 (7-5, 1-2), while Duckett had just started her second set after dropping the first 5-7.

She sends the strong all-round performance of the Lopes with confidence while continuing her season. They return to the GCU tennis system with a matchup against UC Riverside on Wednesday.
