The LOREX 4K battery -Video -doorbell is a very good video door ring, which is held back a little by a limited battery life and accessories. If you live alone and are ready to charge the battery weekly or set it in a wired configuration, to consider its aspect ratio of 9:16, the MicroSD reader (not to mention 32 GB SD card) and to take a variety of functions into the best video ringing for you.

The battery life is not what you would like in a device that should take the best household cameras for your front door. It is also a little worrying that the doorbell is a separate buy. The only way to get notifications outside of your phone is then via Alexa or Google Assistant, so there are at least options.

At least the 4K resolution extends to a 9:16 ratio, so that you can get a full view of the one or whatever at your front door. It also has Color Night Vision as well as a night light and a two-way discussion. As already mentioned, it also has some support for voice assistants.

The setup and the installation are also pretty easy. All in all, the LOREX 4K battery -video -doorbell is a solid option, especially if you are ready to wire it. I would also recommend giving the additional money for the doorbell unless you already have an Alexa or Google Smart -Home -Setup.

The LOREX 4K battery -Videotüra -doorbell has a price of $ 199.99 (approx. £ 160 / au $ 320), which is not bad, especially when you consider that something like the video doorbell of the Phillips 7000 series is a bit more expensive at 229.99 (approx. £ 180 / au $ 350). Unfortunately, it is only available in the USA. So if you are in Great Britain or Australia, you are limited to the 2K video ring with a price of $ 149.99 £ / au $ 327.

The Lorex model offers an aspect ratio of 9:16, while the Phillips uses a dual camera design for a similar full body view. Both allow them to do wired and wireless strength. However, the Lorex has a 32 GB SD card compared to the integrated 8 GB memory. Of course, the Phillips model is equipped with a Wi-Fi-Chime box, while for Lorex (which luckily is compatible with some of the brands of the brand) requires a separate purchase of $ 49.99 / £ 59.99 / au $ 69.00.

If we look at other 4K video ringing, the price tag of the Lorex 4K battery -Videotürbells seems to be of what you should expect. The Swannbuddy 4K costs 199 US dollars / £ 169 / Au $ 299, but offers a little more, since it is not only delivered with a microSD reader and a 32 -GB -SD card, so that you do not have to go out for a subscription, but are also included with a doorbell. The Lorex is a little easier to install, sometimes thanks to the use of plastic assembly clips instead of metal. The Lorex is also more flexible because it is equipped with a few angled brackets so that it gets a clear view of the person standing in front of the door.

The video doorbell from Lorex 4K Battery is available in black and white (the one here is black here) and looks approximately the same and has a size similar to most other video turrets you encounter. It is somewhat smaller than the Phillips Series 7000, which I checked because it is a little more than five inches in size, compared to the phillips of over six inches. It does not make a big difference.

The front of the doorbell consists of the camera above, the logo etched over the middle and the actual button, which is lined by an LED indicator, which lights up when pressing (or if the doorbell is triggered by someone or something that occurs in front of it).

The microSD card reader and a micro USB connection to charging on the side behind a silicon cover that is actually a bit difficult to fall (and will be covered by assembly brackets if it is installed on a door). It takes some work to get out (unless you have long nails), but it helps to get the integrity of the IP65 evaluation of this doorbell, which means that you don't have to worry about a heavy rain that closes the doorbell.

If you want to open this doorbell instead of going the wireless route that you may want after reading my thoughts on the battery life, the ports are on the back of the device. And as expected, the required wires are contained in a small bag, which also contains a pen with which the doorbell is removed from the bracket.

There are also three different assemblies. Or should I say a flat bracket that needs to be used, and then two additional ones that are angled to the side or down to adapt the viewing angle of the doorbell if you don't want you to look straight ahead.

Since I mentioned the brackets, I should mention that the installation is pretty simple. Simply charge the doorbell, screw in the assembly brain (s), connect the doorbell to the app (the usual situation according to the screen), get into the doorbell into the bracket, and you can get started.

The LOREX 4K battery -Videotürbell offers an 8 -megapixel camera with a 4K resolution (2160 × 3840p) in a unique ratio of 9:16. I appreciate the full body angle so that I can get a clear view of the front door. Someone should be very close to the camera to hide a little outside of the perspective. And since it has this higher resolution, everything gets through.

It is just as clear at night, albeit a little more monochromat. This is intended because you can change a setting to see what your color is in color, although it is not quite as crispy.

There is a small delay, but only seems to be a second – certainly not long enough to hinder a conversation. Speaking of, the microphone is sufficient, although it absorbs more ambient noise than I want. At least there is reaction-fast two-way audio.

Since the doorbell chim is sold separately, it is up to me (or who has the app on your phone) to keep an eye on notifications. While I miss the physical carillon, I was able to connect the doorbell with Alexa to serve in this capacity (this video urbell also supports Google Assistant). There is also the possibility to share the doorbell with other users so that other people in the household are also notified when someone is on the door.

Since the 3K battery video ringing for Lorex battery is wired and wirelessly able, I strongly recommend that you visit the cable route. It didn't take too long to be charged, but it took about a week for a fee to rose from 100% to 20%. That means I have to charge it almost every week to continue using it.

Now I will mention that we have dogs that have to be left out several times a day, and several people in the house where this doorbell is tested so that the Lorex is triggered regularly. Nevertheless, a weekly indictment is not something that someone would expect for a video door.

How I tested the Lorex 4K battery video door

In order to test the video doorbell from Lorex 4K battery, I not only answered it on the door for a few weeks, but to monitor all activities that get on and out (mainly my brother-in-law, which had the dogs pee). I also played and tested the various settings in the app to see how they work, including the settings for voice assistants and night vision.
