LSU meets over 2025 spring football game

LSU has joined one Prominent and growing list of college football programs Choosing a traditional spring game in the midst of concerns about manipulation.

The school will organize open football training on April 12, followed by an autograph session for fans instead of a fully contacted game.

The gates are opened at 9:30 a.m. local time and the event is free of charge for the visitors of the fans.

The decision of the LSU not to organize the usual spring football scrimmage follows several other top-class programs to change the course for the pre-season tradition.

This is not the first and will probably not be the last, we have heard of College Football programs that remove the spring football exhibitions in the transfer portal.

Some coaches are concerned that they could effectively give other schools, which makes up for players who could be poached by the portal before the start of the season.

The head coach of Nebraska, Matt Rhule, confirmed his intention to cancel the spring game in favor of a closed format, and quoted a concern about manipulation of rivals.

“I hate to say it like this … Because last year we were one of the stronger spring games and I dealt with many people who offered our players many opportunities afterwards,” he said.

Rhule added: “To go out and bring a few new players with them and to present them for all other schools, do not make much sense to me.”

Some programs are also concerned that have grown longer with the extended college football playoffs and that playing a complete game could wear out the conditioning of the player.

That was a reason for Texa's head coach Steve SarkisianHis Longhorns team played in January before being eliminated in college football Playoff round round.

Nevertheless, most programs continue with the Spring Football game, including Oregon and Clemson, whose trainers defended the concept despite persistent concerns.

“I think it's the best way for us to get better,” said Dan Lanning, head coach of Oregon.

“For me it is the right way to complete spring. As long as I'm here, we make spring games. “

Clemson's Dabo Swinney played concerns that some of his colleagues have manipulations.

“Nobody, nobody will look at the spring game, go, 'Oh yes, boy',” Said Swinney.

“You already have everything with everyone. The spring game will not stop manipulating the manipulation. We need a lot more help than this to stop manipulations. And hopefully that will happen at some point. “

Whatever other programs decide, LSU apparently made her final decision.
