Meaning of Shivrati
It is one of the most happy Hindu festivals dedicated to Lord Shiva and symbolize the victory of light over darkness and ignorance. Observed in the 14th night of the moon month of Phalguna the Divine Association of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvati. Pendants observe fasting, night -length prayers and meditation and seek shivas blessings for spiritual growth, inner peace and liberation (Moksha). Fasting species

How to watch fasting on Maha Shivratri

DOS
1. Honest to this day and follow the rituals diligently.
2. Take a bath on this day, clean the house and sprinkle gangajal.
3. Place Lord Shivas Idol or picture in the northeastern direction of the house and offer him Bael Patra, Chandan, Dhatura, Bhaang and Rohe cow's milk. Follow the Pooja rituals and then carry out the Aarti.
4. Regardless of fasting that you observe, do not starve. Eat nuts and fruits every two hours.
5. On this day, followers can do nuts, fruits, dairy products such as milk and butter and selected flour such as Kuttu Ka Atta (buckwheat flour), Singhare Ka Atta (water chestnut flour) or Rajgira Ka Atta (Amaranth Mehl).

Foods that Lord Shiva offer on Maha Shivratri,
Panchamrit: It is a holy mix of milk, curd cheese, honey, ghee and sugar that is used for abhishker and later consumed as a prasad.
Bhang Thandai: It is a traditional coolant made of milk, dry fruits, spices and sometimes Bhang that is connected to Shiva's meditative condition.
Dry fruits and nuts: On this occasion, people also offer Lord Shiva almonds, cashew nuts and raisins and are considered a sadvic, which makes them perfect for fasting and offering.
Sabudana Khichdi: It is a light, nutritious fasting shell from Sabudana (Tapioka pearls), peanuts and mild spices that are offered as a VRAT feed and later eaten.
