Maine Mann because of arson, tried Murder in connection with Waterville Fire

Waterville, Maine (WGME) – A man from Maine is faced with arson and tried to make allegations of murder after the authorities had intentionally set fire to an apartment building in Waterville.

On May 4, 2024, the crews reacted to a fire in a residential building on the Front Place in Waterville.

The investigators with the office of the state firefighter found that the fire had been deliberately placed on a veranda on the second floor outside the back entrance of the apartment.

Nobody was injured. Five people were driven out because of the fire.

After an investigation, the authorities identified 31-year-old Elijah Yeaton from Waterville as a suspect.

Yeaton, who was already in custody in the Kennebec County prison because of an undressed indictment, was charged on Thursday in connection with the fire in May 2024 for attempted murder and arson.

According to the authorities, Yeaton knew one of the people who lived in the apartments and were familiar with the building.
