Malaysia – where your personal data leaves faster than your bank account

Kuala Lumpur, March 3 – Malaysia in 2024 recorded the highest rate of personal data in the most important Asian markets and, according to the latest annual report, issued financial fraud and theft of identity in the period of millions.

The report found that 72.5 -Pro centers of the Malaysians, who checked their data on the ID security function of Whoscall, found that their personal data was compromised.

“While telephone numbers were the most seepled data in all countries (98 percent in Malaysia) among users, Malaysia is characterized by his high name leaks (89 percent), followed by addresses and e -mails.

Compared to Malaysia, other Asian countries saw lower, but still the data load rates, with E -Mail addresses the second most common data type in Taiwan, Thailand, Japan and the Philippines.

The report emphasizes that the fraudsters were poured out to an increase in fraudsters, with fraudsters using stolen details to posing as banks, government agencies and delivery services.

The authorities warn that violations of personal data are an essential driver for scam -related financial losses that reached RM 1.57 billion in Malaysia last year.
