One person was taken into custody after a 56-year-old man was killed at a shootout on Monday evening in St. Clair County, Michigan.

According to the Sheriff's Office, Dispatch received a call shortly before 7 p.m. about a man who was shot in the 5300 block of the Gratot Road in St. Clair Township. The deputies found the victim, which suffered from several firing wounds.

The man was declared dead at the crime scene.

The sheriff's office said that the MPs had met a 24-year-old man and took him into custody without incidents.

An investigation continues.
