Man critically after the police who were shot on Indys near the east – Indianapolis News | Indiana Wetter | Indiana traffic

Indianapolis (Wish) – A man who was shot by the Indianapolis police in the early Tuesday morning died of his injuries.

According to Indianapolis, the civil servants of the Metropolitan Police Department reacted to the 1600 block of the East Washington Street around 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday after reporting of an injured person. The shipping also passed that a woman had been attacked by several subjects. On arrival, the officials spoke to the female victim.

“The officials then found a potential suspect and tried to speak to this person. A short foot track occurred at some point, and during this foot track, an officer from the department, the weapon issued by the department, released the public information officer Tommy Thompson to News 8.

Thompson added that the suspect had his hands in his pockets when he tried to flee.

The suspect was brought into a critical condition in a regional hospital, but did not survive.

The officials also found a firearm on site, and Thompson added: “At this point, all suspects are taken into account and there is no public security threat.”

In the North State Street, north of Washington, a heavy police presence is expected where several blocks are closed. IMPD asks the residents of the area to contact officials on site if they need help, e.g. B. for travel or school.

No officials were injured during the incident.
