Man dies after the officer who was shot in Christian County

Crofton, Ky. (WSMV) – According to the Kentucky State Police (KSP), a man is dead after a shot by officer in Christian County.

The Kentucky State Police was applied for by Christian County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) in the early Sunday morning to inquire about 12:30 p.m.

The CCSO reacted to a complaint for domestic violence in the Clark Store Sinking Fork Road in Crofton. When the officials arrived, the suspect, 39-year-old Patrick J. Martinez, began to shoot at law enforcement authorities.

The MPs returned fire and met the suspect.

Martinez died at the scene, said Ksp.

“In order to protect the integrity of an ongoing examination, it is the standard KSP operating process, not to publish specific details until important witnesses were interviewed and relevant facts have been collected,” said Ksp. “Term plans for the conclusion of examinations vary depending on the complexity of the case.”
