Man who is charged with capital murder in Harris County Deputy's murder

Houston, Texas -A 26-year-old man, who was charged with the murder of Harris County's deputy sheriff last year, was released from prison last year for Bond.

According to the Harris County Court documents, Dremone Francis, who is exposed to the capital murder and manipulations of the evidence, has a bond of 1 million US dollars on Tuesday and was released from prison.

Court files of 10 years show that Francis is the first defendant to be charged with the capital murder of a police officer who is in bond.

What happened?

In July 2024, the 28-year-old deputy Esqueda was shot while patrolling on the northeast of Harris County.

The deputy Esqueda, together with other MPs, replied to a call about a man who had a small employee with pistols about an incorrect order.

The suspect, 44-year-old Ronnie Palmer, left the restaurant when the MPs arrived, but followed by Esqueda, who worked hidden.

When Palmer arrived at his second location, he and Esqueda came into a confrontation, which led to Palmer opening fire.

When other MPs arrived, Esqueda's patrol car with bullet holes and he was critically injured. Esqueda was taken to the hospital, but died shortly afterwards.

Court files say after Palmer Esqueda shot, he gave Francis two weapons and told him to get rid of them. Francis' telephone records showed that he sent an SMS to sell “hot” firearms.

Palmer is recorded without binding. He is due on Thursday, February 27th. He has charged two cases of serious assault in connection with the incident with the restaurant and the Capitol murder for shooting the deputy Esqueda.
