Man who was arrested in connection with West Hartford Apartment Fire – NBC Connecticut

A man was arrested in West Hartford for arson on Friday.

The Caya Avenue reacted to Caya Avenue at 3:30 p.m. for a report on a structural fire. Witnesses had reported a strong smoke from the building.

Once in the area, emergency crew said that they had found a strong smoke from a window on the third floor of the four -story apartment.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire within minutes.

The West Hartford Fire Marshals office called for fire detectives from the West Hartford police authority and the Connecticut State Police police and the explosive investigative unit to examine the fire.

On Friday evening, the police said 48-year-old Roman Ruben from West Hartford went to the Hartford Police Department and admitted to the police that he had deliberately determined the fire in his apartment.

According to investigators, Ruben later confessed Detectives and the firefighter's office that he deliberately determined the fire in order to harm others in the residential building. He was then arrested.

Ruben is charged, including criminal attempts, fire murder, arson, ruthless danger and risk of injury from a minor. Its bond was set at 1.5 million US dollars.
