Manhattan, Illinois Junior High School Teachers on vacation while the police carried out criminal investigations

Manhattan, Ill. (WLS) – A teacher at Manhattan Junior High School is now on vacation because the police are investigating a criminal investigation.

The district sent a letter to the parents and said, a school employee who dealt with activities that did not match the school authority's guidelines.

School officials said they were made aware of the allegations at the beginning of this month.

The Manhattan police confirmed on Wednesday that the teacher is working on the Junior High, and they examine whether the teacher could be exposed to criminal charges.

“The security and well -being of our children are always of the greatest importance in our district, and we will remain vigilant to proactively clear out all concerns that are made aware of,” said the district.
