Trump defends tariffs, state cuts in the speech to the shared congress

The president observed the movements that his administration undertook in his first weeks of office and the tariffs, the war in Ukraine and the border touched.

President Donald Trump spoke to a joint meeting of the congress on Tuesday evening, six weeks after his historical return to the White House.

During the speech, Trump said “America is back” and defended the tariffs to important US trading partners. He touched immigration and the mineral contract with Ukraine, but failed to go in detail in his economic plan. The speech also met with protests and disorders of the Democrats.

Trump brings 'Pocahontas' against Elizabeth Warren

When Trump finally turned to the conversation about Russia and Ukraine, the Democrats clapped when he said that the United States had sent billions of dollars to support the defense of Ukraine.

“Do you want to keep it running for five years? Yes, yes, you would say that Pocahontas says 'yes',” he said. The reference is a recall of his mockery by Senator Elizabeth Warren from 2018 when she ran as President.

The camera then turned to Warren, who was wearing its typical blue suit. Warren clapped through Trump's Jab.

Trump claims

The Ukraine came 90 minutes after the speech and Trump delivered an update after the Oval Office was captivated last week.

He claimed that Zelenskyy had sent him a letter today in which he pointed out that he was ready to return to the negotiating table and was ready to sign the agreement to give the rare materials of US Ukraine.

“Wouldn't that be nice? Wouldn't that be nice? It's time to stop this madness,” said Trump.
