Mardi Gras celebrations in New Orleans and all of us start with dangerous weather concerns at an early stage

Severe weather systems threaten Mardi Gras celebrations across the country, also in New Orleans.

In the meantime, the day before Monday, March 3, all parades in neighboring Jefferson Parish were canceled according to the NBC partner WDSU.

“Due to the forecast strong winds and the potential threat to public security, we made the difficult decision to cancel parades at the Mardi Gras Day,” said Cynthia Lee Sheng, President of Jefferson Parish, according to outlet reporters at a press conference. “This is disappointing, but our top priority is to ensure the well -being of everyone in our community, and we always have to prioritize the security.”
