Mark Zuckerberg says that the Lama models from Meta 1b Downloads have reached

In a short message on Tuesday morning in threads, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, the company's “Open” model family, said Lama, made 1 billion downloads. This has increased from 650 million downloads in early December 2024-an increase of ~ 53% over a period of approximately three months.

Llama, which operates METAS AI assistant Meta Ai on the various platforms of the tech giant, including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, is part of the long range of Meta, a far-reaching AI product ecosystem. The company produces the models and the tools that are required for fine -tuning and adjustment and are available free of charge as part of a proprietary license.

Some developers and companies have questioned the LAMA license conditions that are somewhat commercially restrictive. Nevertheless, Llama has achieved a widespread success since the start in 2023. Companies such as Spotify, AT & T and Doordash use LAMA models in production today.

This should not indicate that Meta is not exposed to any setbacks.

Llama is the focus of a AI consulting law lawsuit, in which meta is accused of training a number of models for copyrighted e-books without permission. Several EU countries have forced META to postpone its LAMA start plans for data protection concerns -and in some cases to cancel overall. And Llam's performance was surprised by models such as the R1 of the Chinese Ai Labseek.

Meta is said to have tried to set up “war areas” to apply Deepseek's knowledge of Llama's own development, and the company recently said that it would spend up to 80 billion US dollars for projects related to AI this year.

Meta plans to bring several llama models onto the market in the next few months, including “argumentation” models in the sense of the O3 mini from Openaai and models with native multimodal functions. Zuckerberg has also indicated “Agentic” functions, which indicates that some of these models will be able to autonomously grab actions.

“I think this could be very good in which Lama and Open Source are the most advanced and most common AI models,” said Zuckerberg during Meta's fourth 2024 in January. “[O]Your goal for [Llama this year] is to be guided. “

We will surely find out more on Lamacon, the first generative KI developer conference of Meta, which is to take place on April 29.
