Married couple married 50 years and killed home in midfield, which have now been identified

The authorities published the names of a husband and a wife who were killed last month when the fire swept home through their midfield.

Jefferson County's Coron office identified the victims as Odis Edward Ward (72) and Vanessa Avery Ward (71).

Midfield Fire and Rescue reacted on February 22nd at 6:48 a.m. in the 1200 block of the Woodfall Drive at 6:48 a.m.

A neighbor called 911 to report the fire on the other side of the street, and said that there were people inside.

Firefighters arrived to find the house in flames. An older family member was saved and taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The stations were declared dead at 6:53 a.m.

The couple's service took place on March 1st in the Faith Memorial Chapel.
