Match preview: Borussia Dortmund Host Lille

The round of sixteen is finally here and Borussia Dortmund Host Ligue 1 Side, Lille, tomorrow in a vital facility. Borussia Dortmund showed how a strong first leg after her games against FC Porto can be decisive, and the men from Kovac will now try to use their advantage of Homefield. The team is what feels this season for the first time in a purple patch after eight goals in the last two games and three clean leaves in a row. However, the Bundesliga cannon feed is not a comparison with a Lille team that defeated Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid to earn their place in the UCL's top night. The most important game from Niko Kovac's term takes place tomorrow and we will see how far Borussia Dortmund has come.

For Lille, this match comes at a crucial time in her season. They were rebound by Ligue 2 Side Dunkerque from the Putsch de France, and their hopes for UCL football next season were only crashed after a 4-1 path in Paris. Bruno Genesios squad is also an engima. Lille struggled to create opportunities for her star striker Jonathan David and to be in the third best goals in Ligue 1, although her XGA placed her in eight space. Despite the lean reading, Lille has found a way to win important games all season, and completed her last UCL game with a dominant 6-1 display via Feyenoord. However, the most threatening of Dortmund's opposition is the selection of nicknames that extend from Les Dogues (the Mastiffs) to La Machine de Guerre (the war machine). To be honest, you could gain the match from this last nickname alone.

Player to see: Jonathan David

Close your eyes to USMNT fans because Jonathan David is probably North America's best striker and one of the best players in Ligue 1. Canada's top goal scorer ever took part in 37 games in 37 games this season, including 8 goals and 3 assists in 12 UCL games. Jonathan David is everything your youth football Coach wanted in a player – he is intelligent, physically, two football and has a work rate with which only a few other strikers can correspond. He will not only be a primary outlet during the Lilles game, but will also try to build the ball out of his back.

Predicted list: 4-2-3-1

The Grand Poobah of the Wall, Sean Keyser, has a much -deserved vacation, so I took some creative freedom with our installation design for today. Please press your support for my artistic passion in the comments below.

As for things that are really important, like the prediction of a soccer blogger, we should all expect Serhou Guirassy to run the line -up tomorrow. Karim Adeyemi spoke very much about his role in the press conference before the game and should also be locked up to start. I predicted Jamie Gitten that he would return to him despite the visceral hate of our commentators and Julian Brandt rested for the game. Sabitzer and Gross have proven to be Kovac's point of contact in a double pivot point. Ramy Bensebaini has found its shape in the last games, while the Schlotterbeck and the backline kept three clean sheets going. Julian Rerson was traveling with a flu, but is expected to return to the squad, if not with eleven. It is expected that Gregor Kobel begins unless he gets one of his famous “round of sixteen warm -up injuries”.
