Match Pulse: Honor Watch 5 Ultra

I am not allowed to test many smartwatches. But when a unique opportunity knocks on my door in a blue moon, I never hesitate.

But with the arrival of the Honor Watch 5 Ultra In the scene it felt like I had received a gift from the gods.

First look

Of all the previously published smartwatches, Huawei's Watch GT 5 Pro excited my attention with its striking octagonal watch face. In a sea of ​​circular and lightning -fast watches, it felt new and refreshing.

Fortunately, the Honor Watch 5 Ultra sees not far from its “cousin”. It also has what Honor calls a “octagonal Dome design” in addition to a sapphire crystal display.

However, I would lie if I don't say that I am quite disappointed that Honor has decided to remove this tachymeter in favor of a slimmer watch bezel. Fortunately, the 1.5-inch amoled display with a pixel density of 310ppi is the saving grace.

It felt bright and sharp enough to get a daily clothing, regardless of whether they are inside or outside.

However, my disappointments do not end there. When I was unboxing, I got the color that I don't prefer. Maybe I'm only very nichic, because I like my watch that I stand out from my monotonous dark outfit scheme.

Finally, the “fluoroelastomer” contained is what I love the least. This is not entirely exclusive to Honor Watch 5 Ultra, as this is possible for all smartwatch offers.

I understand that the rubber watches are intended for sporting activities, but personally it always felt flimsy and cheap for me.

If I had the choice, I would automatically select the silver version with a brown leather strap. No questions.

I am only glad that the Honor Watch 5 Ultra uses the standard -22 -mm -belt + -rlockung system as with most smartwatches. This means that earlier bands of third -party providers from my Xiaomi and Huawei work smartwatches with this brand new watch.

First date

Just like with any other first date, this phase “knowledge” is of crucial importance to assess whether you could be a potential partner or not.

The first time I wore the Honor Watch 5 Ultra, my unnecessary problems faded easily. It felt light and right on my not so small wrist.

Even if Google is not executed in Google's civil servants, Magicos is still a good option. The overall marriage and functionality do not differ so much from its competitors.

It felt familiar with his touch gestures: swish down to the control center, wipe to the left to go back to the right to cards (or widgets) to the right. The digital crown acts as a home button, while another can be set for a link.

In combination with the LTPO display -Tech of the watch, the animations overall feel more smoothly -even if it only has a 60 -Hz update rate.

There are a variety of watch faces to choose from – from classic to mechanical to quirky. There are even watch faces with a color palette that fully supplemented the OotD you wear.

One thing I don't understand is how Honor has a limit on the installation of watch faces on the device itself. Before I forget it, the 5 Ultra clock offers an integrated 8 GB memory.

It is also a huge crap that you can only copy songs from the local memory and not from music streaming apps such as Spotify or Apple Music.

A 480 -MAH battery is very common in smartwatches. But when I wrote this part, the Honor Watch 5 Ultra still holds quite well. Mind you, I never surpassed it on the day I unpacked it (which only had about 50% of the battery mirror).

If I counted, the clock still lives on the 5th day. How much more if it was completely charged?

It doesn't stop here. Not only can it read your heart rate and blood oxygen, there is also an ECG function. Even voltage levels can be recognized.

I am also relieved that it has both an IP68 evaluation and 5ATM water resistance. It is not only advantageous for some strenuous training sessions, but also if you swim uninhibitedly.

First impressions

At first I sounded so disappointed (obviously). After I know the Honor Watch 5 Ultra, I really appreciated his general form and function.

Sure, it is just another smartwatch that was beaten with an “ultra” superlative branding. However, this is still justified how Honor has decided this product with premium materials and a watch “intelligent”.

Although I didn't belong in the category of sporty and fitness people, I really enjoyed the Honor Watch 5 Ultra as a buddy for my informal workouts. Even more than the new companion when I go out – regardless of whether my Ootd's results of random mix and agreement are.
