Matildas vs. Colombia result: Australia police officer third loss in Shebelievescup

The Matildas lost three consecutive games for the first time in four years when they went to Colombia 2-1 in their last Shebelievescup game in San Diego.

The defeat in the Snapdragon Stadium condemned Australia in one year in one year in which the nation is organized by the women's cup of women.

The losses against Japan and the USA in the opening games organized a bitter performance by Tom Sermanni's side, and the team continued to fight against Colombia and took 21 in the world.

Wendy Bonilla rewarded the good early work of Colombia at the beginning of the game before the Matildas compensated briefly via Hayley Raso.

But Colombia cap Catalina Usme was on hand to achieve the winner shortly afterwards with a distracted effort.

The Matildas started well when Kyra Cooney-Cross exerted early pressure on the Colombian goalkeeper, while Emily van Egmond blinked a long-term shot.

Colombia gradually settled in the game and took the lead over the young Star Linda Caicedo, which was saved by Teagan Micah Brillant in seven minutes.

This warning of the Colombians was an Australia when the South Americans took the lead after 15 minutes, with Caicedo starting the move.

The 20-year-old Fed Mayra Ramirez and after a move to Bonilla, Colombia was 1-0 when the wing player was a shot from the long post into the net.

Michelle Heyman had a golden opportunity to compensate for a mistake by the defense of Colombia, but it was not decisive and the chance was lost.

Colombia continued in the second half, with Caicedo and Bonilla being together with the fact that the latter forced a rescue from Micah.

It was Australia that was able to compensate for a nice two-two two two two two of the Charli Grant and Mary Fowler in 69 minutes with Rasos.

But a bound game did not take long when the USME put in the foreground four minutes later by a long -strain shot, in which a nasty deflection was necessary to beat Micah.

The Matildas tried to push for a second balance, but the Colombians sat deep and managed to extend all threats.

It is the first time that Australia has lost three games in a row since a trio of friendships against Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark in 2021.
