Duterte referred to Marbils in a Ballyonaryo news broadcaster in November and said that most of those who grasp them in illegal drug use “are not necessarily addictive, but forced to use forbidden substances to stay awake during long working hours or extended layers.”

Duterte added that the suspects may have been asked to rob a deposit house for a reward.

He said it was easy to pay people to do criminal acts for hunger and poverty.

The DCPO spokesman Hazel Caballero Tuazon, in an interview that was broadcast around DXDC-RMN, said that the arrested suspect would be violated, among other things, for robbing robbery and the ban on election pistols.

The DCPO director Colonel Hansel Marantan contested on social media that the robbery was “staged”.

The five other suspects still have to be arrested.

The police offered a reward of 500,000 peseters – 100,000 pesos for information that leads to the arrest of the five other suspects.

The DCPO asked the public to deliver leads or information about the suspects and their whereabouts via the hotline numbers 0998 598 7054, 0916 659 2576 and 082-227-577. (Ian Carl Espinosa / Mindanews)
