Measure. Woman speaks after the neighbor is accused of shot her beloved dog – Boston 25 News

New Bedford, mass. – A woman from Massachusetts is charged with charges for cruelty to animals after the police said she shot and wounded her neighbor's dog with a pellet gun in the early this month.

Yolanda Todman from New Bedford said she felt for days when the investigators tried to find the person who was responsible for hurt her 1-year-old dog named Zuri, who was outside when she was shot.

The police ultimately identified 32-year-old Lynette Ayala as the alleged shooter. It has now been taken into custody.

Todman says she is grateful that an arrest has been made, but she doesn't make her any less angry about what happened.

“I don't give peace, give me no peace at all,” said Todman.

Zuri is energetic and playful, but according to Todman, she moved her leg much differently with her leg.

“It is not as if it is a danger to someone, so there is no excuse,” said Todman.

Todman called the police on March 1, after injuring Zuri in front of her house of Clifford Street. The surveillance video recorded what had happened.

“You can hear the pops, they scream,” said Todman. “I mean, she was just sitting here and took care of her shops in her own farm.”

Ayala lives only a few houses from Todman.

“I personally don't know the person. I have had discussions with the person in the past, ”said Todman. “But you never know who is your neighbor, do you know what I mean?”

Todman says the incident felt threatened and insecure.

“My children could have been outside,” said Todman. “Everything in this fence should be our safe zone, and unfortunately it is not.”

Todman says this whole saga was not only emotionally, but also financially hard on her.

She had to get her work to the waiting loop to ensure that Zuri is the concern she needs and the veterinary bills are almost 2,000 US dollars.

This is a developing story. Look for updates as soon as more information is available.
