Memory: Seasonal weight restrictions begin on March 7 for La Crosse County, Onalaska Roads,

Seasonal weight restrictions for County Highways in La Crosse County begin on March 7th.

In spring, the soil is saturated with water, which makes it weak and cannot support heavy loads.

Two (2) axes 8 tons (16,000 lbs.)
Three (3) or more axes (straight truck) 26,000 lbs.)
Combination vehicles (tractor & trailer) 18 tons (36,000 lbs.)

Langeberg said that weight restrictions could be thawed earlier if rain or melting snow are thawed.

As soon as the frost has dissolved, the restrictions would be lifted.
