Men's basketball in Florida falls on number 5 in AP survey

After a defeat of 88-83 against Georgia on Tuesday, the men's basketball team in Florida fell from 3rd place to 5th place in the Associated Press Opinion poll.

The Gators (25-2, 12-4) did not lose games in a row this season. They drove back on Saturday in an 89-70 blowout of No. 22 Texas A&M.

Although Georgia lost quadrant 1, a good week of No. 4 Tennessee brought the Vols past the Gator. Tennesses Jahmai Mashack met a 3 pointer to complete the comeback against No. 7 Alabama. Although Tennessee is in the AP survey on Florida, Florida is in second place in the SEC ranking.

Houston took 3rd place. The Cougars are in the middle of a winning streak with eight games and cemented themselves as the leader of the BIG 12.

SEC tournament heating

  • Texas A&M fell in the survey from No. 12 to No. 22 10 places. A&MS defeat against Florida was the fourth time in a row, and the team has to expose itself to Auburn on Tuesday in a recently unstoppable Auburn team.
  • Missouri is now the 5-seed in the SEC tournament after falling on Vanderbilt 97-93. They only dropped one place from No. 14 to No. 15.
  • Vanderbilt still has not substituted after he has annoyed A&M away and Missouri at home this week.
  • Kentucky has the same 8-8 record as Vanderbilt, but is in 19th after he has lost at home against Auburn.
  • The state Mississippi changed after a victory against LSU and a defeat against Alabama from 111-73 from No. 24 to 25th place. The bulldogs are also 8-8 in the Sec.

Despite the loss against Georgia, Florida is in a good position to earn a double game in the Sec tournament. You have to win against Alabama or Mississippi to secure a top 4 seeds.

Walter Clayton Jr. was announced as the top 5 finalist for the Bob Cousy Award. Although the Star Point Guard 3-against-13 went from the field against A&M, it was incredibly impressive due to his death and aggression on the edge.

Bracket

The fate of the Gators, which sow in March Madness, rests in their hands. When Florida Alabama beats Tuscaloosa, this strengthens the team of the team for a 1 -seed. There are currently six teams that have a legitimate case for a 1 seed (Florida, Auburn, Duke, Tennessee, Houston and Alabama). After Auburn and Duke locked almost two of these places, Florida has to need a strong departure in the regular season and the SEC tournament to secure the top seed.
