Met detective released to “throw flare” and to wear Balaclava during the Arsenal match

A met detective was released for his football hooliganism in Arsenal games -including a flare in the crowd.

Detective Constable Gordon Irikefe was released without notice and on Monday there was a three -year ban on football games in Great Britain from the Westminster Magistrates Court.

Last week there was an investigation of the misconduct after the allegations that Irikefe was thrown into the audience on April 17 of the last year during the Champions League game from Arsenal against Bayern Munich.

The force said that Irikefe had also been arrested by the German police on that day because he had supported full Balaclava and sunglasses in the stadium and was fined 100 euros due to an offense of a masking.

The Westminster Magistrate Court heard how the official has been drawn to the police several times since October 2022 because of his football hooliganism at Arsenal.

In February 2023 he heard in a match in Leicester City 'tragedy singing' and screamed “Helicopter”, an obvious reference to the fatal accident in 2018, in which the club owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha was killed.

Further allegations were that they made vigorous gestures and misuse with a substitute, mask themselves, “in order to hide his identity and intimidate other fans, including the use of torches.

After the order, Irikefe has not participated in the lively football games in Great Britain and cannot go within a mile of the Emirates stadium if arsenal plays four hours before and after the game.

He is also four hours before and after an Arsenal away game that an Arsenal playing away there was also not in a stadium in which England plays four hours before and after the game.

Detective Superintendent Emma Bond, who is responsible for police work for the central south south, said: “DC Irikefe has shown an unacceptable behavior pattern for everyone at football games, let alone a police officer who invaded the highest standards, whether.

“His actions have not only seen how he was now exposed to a football ban order, but also cost him his job.

“I am grateful to professional standards and colleagues in the football unit to bring the evidence together in this case to ensure that we were able to take determined measures.”

DC Irikefe resigned on Wednesday, February 12, but in his notice period he was still a servant when his hearing was held in misconduct, which means that he was released without notice.

After his release, Irikee is also placed on the blocked list of College of Policing, which means that he cannot get any other job with another police or in some relatives.
