Meta unfolds employees because it leaves internal information

Meta has terminated 20 employees because they have supposedly shared confidential company details with journalists. The company has announced that the efforts to identify more people involved are continued, which indicates that additional layoffs could follow.

According to the verge, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, addressed the employees in a recently made meeting and expressed frustration over repeated leaks. He said that he would no longer share sensitive updates from companies with employees due to ongoing information leaks. He also signaled a closer work relationship between Meta and the White House in the coming year.

The layoffs come at a time when META has made internal political changes, in particular in response to the change in political dynamics in the United States. For example, it recently changed its diversity programs, according to reports due to changes in the political landscape. These changes follow the most important appointment of the leadership, including the Republican strategist Joel Kaplan as Chief Global Affairs Officer of Meta and UFC President Dana White, who advocates the board.

Zuckerberg has also actively dealt with political personalities. He was one of the financial supporters of the newly elected term of office of the US President and took part in the event alongside Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

These latest layoffs follow a larger restructuring effort at Meta. The company had previously released 4,000 employees who were classified as “inefficient”. At the same time, the top managers set up their bonuses by 200 percent and asked questions about the company's priorities, which made the cost reduction measures.

Since Meta has intensified its internal controls and geared towards political leadership, further structural and political changes will be expected in the coming months.
