Mets' AJ Minter slightly before the schedule when the hip surgery is slowly returned

Port st. Lucie – AJ Minter is still pursuing a conservative approach this spring, but has not lost confidence in the possibility of making the opening day.

The left reliever, which arrived a two-year contract worth $ 22 million, continues to throw bullpen sessions into the camp, but is behind most of the other jugs than someone who does not yet have to compete in live work.

Minter rehabilitates the left hip surgery last summer.

“The training staff was excellent and it is their job to tell me no because I am not very good at saying no,” said Minter.

After his operation, Minter said at a little more than six months that he was a bit ahead where he expected at the end of February.

“We have to be smart there and don't push because I feel good,” said Minter, adding that he first received a return plan of seven to nine months.

Manager Carlos Mendoza has announced that this spring he would like to bring Minter into five or six games.

At the moment, Minter has sights to throw “a handful” of additional bullpens before thinking when he can be seen in the live stroke practice.
