Mets' Francisco Lindor, hoping to avoid a slow start in April this time

Port st. Lucie – Francisco Lindor smiled and repeated himself.

“I only have to play well in April,” said Lindor this week. “I have to play well in April. That's it. “

The Mets Shortstop has a miraculous season that ended with the fact that it took second place in the NL MVP vote-and yet he was not an all-star.

Somehow Lindor has never gone to the midsummer Classic with the Mets in his four years, and last year part of the problem was his slow start.

He only met in March and April. 197 with an operating room.

Lindor did not necessarily arrive at the camp to start quickly, but slowly build up. After an injury with a lower backrest, which had appeared in game 147 last season-at a time when he was published in all 147 games-Hoffte Lindor to be incremental for a long season this spring.

“I came to spring training and thought about not being ready to go from day 1 [of spring training]«, Said Lindor. “I'll pace up and down.”

He played in five Grapefruit League games, but not yet one after the other-a step that he reached on March 2 last year.

Extending the ramp to every day is the only minor change change for Lindor this year. He was a relatively slow starter for his career.

With health and a faster start, one of the special features of Lindor's term in Queens would be repaired.

“Hopefully,” said Lindor that he finally cracked his fifth all-star game. “We'll see.”
