Metter Fire Rescue crews respond to fatal house fire

METTER, Ga. (WTOC) – One person is dead after a house fire in Metter, Georgia on Monday.

Metter Fire Rescue said they were sent to a residential structure fire at 210 North Kennedy Street.

Once at the scene, firefighters said they were met with heavy smoke and flames coming out of the home.

Firefighters said they immediately began efforts to put the fire out.

Metter Fire Rescue reported that a victim from the fire died from injuries sustained in the fire.

Right now, the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office and the Metter Police Department are helping to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
