After a field best of 1: 31.32 on the 800 freestyle relay last night, Owen McDonald in Indiana threw a great performance in the 200 IMS to destroy the big ten meet record in the event. McDonald, the defending NCAA second place and PAC-12 champion, achieved a time of 1: 39.89 in the victory and won the Big Ten-Meet record of 1: 40.48, which was determined by Gal Groumi last year. After publishing a massive lifespan in the Prelims, the newcomer to Ohio State, Matthew Klinge, certainly did not disappoint in the final and reduced this time even more. The Matt King of Indiana managed to reach a third place on the wall in a time of 18.92 to access the podium.

In the B-final, the defending champion Tai TorePeormsby from Wisconsin threw a 18.93 for victory, a time that the podium in the A-final would have just missed. TorePe -ormsby won the event last year with 18.76.

The Michigan Wolverines pulled the surprise of competitor Ohio State to book the first gold medal of the weekend team in the 200 freestyle relay.
