Mike Sanford from the height footballer brings Valor Christian as a head football coach passion

Highlands Ranch, Colorado – Mike Sanford from Altity brings passion – and extensive coaching resume – into one of the leading football programs in Colorado in Colorado.

As Sanford likes to say: “Show excited for work or do not appear at all” and refer to his new position as Cheffussball coach of the football team of Valor Christian High School.

Denver7 Sports did not hit him at a press conference or on a soccer field. Instead, we only met him in a radio studio a few minutes after completing his daily show.

“Everything I've had to eat so far are black coffee and sunflower seeds,” Sanford told Denver7 Sports.

Apart from the special diet, Sanford is as committed as inviting. It is easy to see why height sports radio took the opportunity to rent the former football coach at the University of Colorado.

Sanford co-moderator “The Morning Sprint” between 10 a.m. and noon every day next to Alex Rajaniemi. But if you spend more than 60 seconds in Sanford, you will see that his true calling is coaching.

“Passion, energy, I am constantly moving,” said Sanford. “I love to do what I have to do, which I am passionate about. The football game I love is everything I know. “

He grew up as the son of a trainer and spent the last 15 years to pursue this calling at the NCAA division I level. Most recently, Sanford was the offensive coordinator and interim head coach at the CU in 2022.

Before Sanford moved his family to Colorado, he was head coach in Western Kentucky. He was also an offensive coordinator at Boise State, Notre Dame, Utah State and the University of Minnesota.

“There are 14 trains and I speak of big steps,” said Sanford.

The constant movement began to burden his family, but in Colorado he found a new calling that began to draw on his heart.

“When I go in and do something, I am like 10 toes, both of whom are on site,” said Sanford. “I'm all in there.”

He talks about sports media that Sanford attacked with the wildness of Miller in Super Bowl 50. He is a shooting star, a magician with a microphone who wears a work morality that makes Saquon Barkley nod in the confession.

Sanford stood on a crossroads: continue his frolicking through sports transmission and let his weekends consume with comments or return his headset to the sidelines.

“I would say I was really satisfied and excited about what the future on radio,” said Sanford. “Until the opportunity for the [Valor Christian High School] Job came. At that time I thought: “Wow, it could really be fun.”

He does not give up on radio. In fact, Chris Armas, sports colleagues from Kroenke, could be useful in his new job.

“I really had the chance to choose his brain every week about leadership and coaching,” said Sanford. “Coaching is trained.”

Valor Christian's first state championship has been on his to-do list since 2018, but it is not its main goal.

“[I want to have] Positive effects on the football field in the development of the athletes, “said Sanford.” But also outside the field and [their] Development from a young man to an adult man. “

Sanford lives life up to the clock of his own drum, and apparently follows this rhythm of energy and happiness where it is going.

“I'm probably not the standard ball coach,” said Sanford. “There are some aspects of me that are a little unique and different. I do the media and train football. It is what I love, it is what I am passionate about. The appeal to be here in Colorado is the calling to be in the amount of sports radio. And then have this chance to train with Valor Christian, [it’s] A job that I believe that it is in the entire high school football across the country of the top 10. I understand the expectations that I understand pressure and I will build it on myself to build this program and take the children away. “
