Monroe firefighters discovered, reacted to the apartment fire while they are not related

Firefighters who left a medical call in an apartment complex in Monroe, Michigan, noticed smoke from a fire in a nearby building and quickly turned into this emergency.

Families from three apartments had to be evacuated due to the smoke, water and fire damage.

“The immediate measures of the firefighters Kail and Tobin have undoubtedly saved additional property and helped to protect life and their pets,” said the social media post of the Monroe Public Safety Department.

The fire occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Greenwood town houses in the northeast of the city. The firefighters who had a non -related medical call in the apartment complex saw smoke from one of the buildings. They check that the unit was empty while other crews were called to the scene.

The fire had spread to the attic; But the crews were able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to other apartments.

Other agencies that were called on site were the Monroe Police Department, the Frenchtown Township fire brigade and the Monroe Community ambulance. The investigators of the firefighting team and the city's arson examine the cause of the fire.

“We would like to thank the residents of the complex for their cooperation and support in this incident,” the report said. “The employees of the apartment complex support the families of three apartments that had to be evacuated due to smoke, water and fire damage.”
