Mother accused of having killed husband reunification with family – NBC4 Washington

A woman who was accused of killing her alienated husband was reunited with her family after four months in prison.

Latoya Crabbe has been in prison since October for murder at Prince William County. On the Bond Friday she was reached directly into her mother's arms. The tears began before the hug.

“I looked aside and started crying immediately,” said Crabbe. “I couldn't be stopped, started crying. I was so happy to see her. “

Then at home hug more with their three children aged 5, 4 and 2 aged 5 children.

“At first they were speechless for a second, but then:” I missed you “and they wondered why I was gone for so long,” said Crabbe.

The police arrested Crabbe on October 21. Manassa's police said she shot her alienated husband several times in the couple's bedroom.

Crabbes' defenders say that the deadly shots had only come to Curtis Crabbe a few days, who allegedly sent threatening text messages, and a reading: “I don't play around. I will hurt everyone in this house and then set it on fire. “

Crabbe says she acted in self -defense. Her lawyers say her husband Curtis had driven her into her tightness.

In prison, initially in solitary confinement, says Crabbe, she felt hopeless.

“To be honest, there was a point when I almost thought I should have had him killed,” she said.

She said as soon as she connected with family and friends again by calls, letters and video visits, she decided to be with her children again.

“Anyone who knew me and automatically believed that I had never done anything except in self -defense, it has changed my hope and mentality about the situation,” she said. “That I am very grateful that I am still alive, that all of my family members are still alive.”

Crabbe will be due again on Thursday in court when the public prosecutor dismissed the second -degree murder accusation. But they said they plan to bring their evidence to a big jury next month and instead apply for a first degree to be accused of murder.

Prosecutors say they recently received evidence that ring videos that were recorded at the time of the shootout had been deleted. The von Crabbe family says that the cameras are in a living area – not in the bedroom – and were only recorded when there was movement.

In the meantime, Crabbe said that she had focused on spending as much time as possible with her children.

“We only use the time we have because we don't know how much time it will be,” she said.

“I try to hope for the best and just prepare for the worst case scenario,” she said.

Crabbes' prosecutors say that the prosecutors had given her the opportunity to admit to her guilty and not to get in prison for more than 15 years, but she rejected it.
