Mother dead, 5 injured after the fire in Marietta Home broke out

The crews try to find out what triggered a deadly house fire in Marietta early Friday morning.

The flames broke out in a house on the 600 block of the Oakland Drive SE.

What we know:

Officials said they had received the call about the fire around 3 a.m. and arrived at home to find heavy flames from the garage and the surrounding area.

After the crews had received reports on people in the house, the crews started an extensive search. During this search, captain Matthew Edwards said that they found a woman's body under a collapsed section of the garage for a drive-in garage.

The wife's husband and two adult sons were brought to local hospitals for treatment. Edwards said the sons had burns in their hands and her father suffered from smoke in -breathing.

Two firefighters were also transported to hospitals after not suffering life -threatening injuries to fight the fire, officials said.

What we don't know:

The authorities did not violate the name of women or others in the fire.

Edwards says that they have reports about at least one pet in the house and are still looking in the area.

The Cobb County police authority examines the cause of the fatal fire.
