Mount Pleasant Denny's restaurant fire; Malfunctions light up

Early Monday morning, February 24, was reported in the Denny's restaurant in Mount Pleasant. The crews were sent to the Washington Avenue restaurant around 6:30 a.m.

What we know:

When arriving at the scene, the South Shore fire brigade found a lamp in the rating malfunction.

The incorrect luminaire caused smoking conditions throughout the restaurant and a small fire in the area around the lamp.

No injuries were reported.

The damage caused by the fire were limited to the area around the lamp in the loibit of the building. The first estimates are $ 5,000.

What's next:

The restaurant is temporarily closed, as well as standard practice, until the Racine County Ministry of Health can carry out an inspection.
