Mount Prospect Shooting: Michael Work shoots an ex-girlfriend at Meadows Condominiums before taking life, says the police says

Mount Prospect, Ill. (WLS) – A man shot his ex-girlfriend in a residential building in the suburb in north before taking his own life on Monday afternoon, the police said.

Mount Prospect's police officers reacted to the garage of the Meadows Condominium in 1200 block of the West Northwest Highway shortly after 4:45 p.m. on Monday.

There, officers found a conscious 63-year-old woman and an unconscious 53-year-old man who had both been shot.

The police said an investigation shows that the man who, as Michael's work from Shorewood, Wisconsin, had drawn her car into the secure garage of the condominium building into the secure garage of the condominiums, had followed her inwards with his vehicle while the door was was still open.

When the woman tried to park, the work drove several times into the driver's driver's driver and opened the fire, the police said. Then he got out of his car and shot himself.

The victim shot several times was brought to the Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. According to the police, she was awake and spoke to detectives.

The work was taken to the same hospital where he was declared dead.

The police recovered a weapon from the scene.

The police said the work and the victim were in a dating relationship that recently ended.
