MTSU sports director Chris Massaro to serve in the selection committee for College Football Playoffs -MTSu -Site lines

The Management Committee of College Football Playoff (CFP) appointed the sports director of the Middle Tennessee State University, Chris Massaro, the CFP selection committee, Mtsu athletics announced on Tuesday.

In spring, Massaro will begin his three-year term in the 13-person selection committee. Mark Rhades, sports director of Baylor University, is to act as chairman of the selection committee for 2025.

“It is an incredible honor to be selected for College Football Playoff Committee,” said Massaro in a media publication. “I look forward to contributing to the important work in the evaluation of the best teams in the nation and working with some extremely talented people. College football continues to grow and develops, and I am happy to be a small part of the process that formulates its future. “

The committee is responsible for evaluating the nation's 25 FBS teams and assigning the top -12 participants of the recently expanded playoff clip.

Massaro has been head of the sports department of the MTSU as the fifth longest FBS sports director for FBS sports director for 20 years.

Massaro's CFP selection is not his first experience in a collegiate board, since in 2008 he worked a member of the NCAA football committee for football issues. The NCAA Division I women's basketball committee for the 2010-2011 season was appointed in the NCAA Division I. Leadership Council.

Before Massaro arrived at MTSU, he spent about two decades in various administrative roles at the University of South Carolina, starting in the ticket office, before finally climbing Senior Associate Athletics Director.
