Mullings scores points in the long jump, several Beacon's record -person known on the first day of the MVC indoor championships

The Valparaiso University's Track & Field team took part in the first of two days at the Indoor Championships of the Missouri Valley Conference on Sunday, since the Beacons organize the event alongside UIC in Gately Park in Chicago. Junior Micah mullings (Minesing, Ontario, Canada / Barrie North) took fourth place in the long jump and scored five points for his team.

How it happened

  • Mullings took the fourth of 17 and was missing the podium in long jump. He achieved a brand of 7.24 meters (23-9) to score five points for the Valpo men.
  • Sophomore Tim Jochum (Glen Ellyn, Ill. / Glenbard South) ended 11TH Of 18 in the mile of men who have the top time among the non-qualified people when the top 10 switched to the final. His personal record time of 4: 13.84 moved him to fifth place in the program history in this event.
  • Sophomore Taylor Pusateri (Portage, Ind. / Genoa-Kingston) in the 60s PR approved with its PR of 7.95 seconds, an event where she took fourth place in the program history.
  • Sixth year Reilly Ritter (Tabernacle, NJ / Seneca [Florida Gulf Coast]) had a PR of 2: 21.06 to lead Valpo in the 800 women and to end 16TH of 20 in the preliminaries.
  • Another personal best was noted by Neulingen Kensington Black (Franklin, Ohio / Franklin Senior), who stopped the clock in 5000 in 17: 49.05.
  • On the men's side in 5000, in the second year Karson Hollander (Crystal Lake, Ill. / Crystal Lake) led the team to the end of 13TH from 21 at 14: 44.34.
  • Junior Anthony Vassolo (Tinley Park, Ill. / Andrew) ran to two season best and ended the 200 prelims in 22.53 seconds and the 400 in 50.88 seconds.
