Jesse Mendoza, 32, was found with a gunshot wound. According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, he was taken to a hospital in which he died of his injuries. Osbi agents were asked to help the murder investigated, and they identified 28-year-old Tyler Layton as the suspect who was responsible for the shootout. An arrest warrant was issued for Layton. Around 6 p.m. the Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers Layton and initiated a traffic stop in Clinton. “The encounter culminated in a shootout affected by officer,” said an OSBI press release. Shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, officials from the Clinton Police Department reacted to an apartment complex near South 28th Street and West Hayes Avenue. Jesse Mendoza, 32, was found with a gunshot wound.

According to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, he was taken to a hospital in which he died of his injuries.

Osbi agents were asked to help the murder investigated, and they identified 28-year-old Tyler Layton as the suspect who was responsible for the shootout. An arrest warrant was issued for Layton.

It was not immediately clear what led to the shootout, but the Osbi said Layton was in possession of a pistol.

Soldiers and medical staff enabled life -saving measures, but Layton was declared dead on site.

No soldiers were violated in the incident.

The OSBI is now examining the death of Mendoza. The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety examines the shootings affected by officers, in which Layton was killed.
