At the beginning of the last week, EF Pro Cycling published his latest film in full length, The Great Southern Country. Lachlan Morton follow the hour and the 47-minute long documentary when he tried 14,200 kilometers around the scope of the country under exhausting conditions.

When I looked at the video, after almost two hours I didn't intend to see the whole thing. I thought I would just get the core so that I could write about it. Almost immediately I was fully committed. The film fluctuates between the strong beauty of the rural Australia and the inspiring ability of Lachlan to push far beyond the border that one of us considers possible.

I often googled km after Mi Conversions during the show. He was driving over 600 km at once? That's 372 miles! Wait, he thinks 1,200 km in A GO is possible?

It is one thing to drive these distances in a single trip. It is a completely different thing to drive these distances in 95ยบ+F temperatures in a row.

With the original record of 37 days, Lachlan managed to smash more than 460 km per day in just 30 days, 9 hours and 59 minutes.

As part of his trip, Lachlan collected over 140,000 US dollars for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation, the aim of which is to provide indigenous children in remote communities in his home country Australia. You can still donate here.
