National Weather Service Marquette sets up the daily snowfall record

Upper Michigan (WLUC) – The National Weather Service Marquette Office in Negaunee Township set a daily record for snowfall on Wednesday. From 7 p.m. the office received 17.3 inch snow and broke the record of 15.8 inches in 2001. The weather service is that this is also the seventh snow -covered March day in the record and snow of March since 2012.

With regard to the fluid rods, the office recorded 2.16 inches from 5 p.m. and broke the last record of 1.86 inches in 2004.

Some of the other highest snow reports from Wednesday in Upper Michigan include 16.5 inches in the Aura area from 5 p.m., 16 inches in Sands Township from 3 p.m. and 14 inches in Harvey from 6 p.m.
