NC man who was arrested by GBI during murder examinations with several countries

Winterville-a man from North Carolina was arrested by Georgia Bureau of Investigation in a murder examination with several countries.

The GBI, the Oglethorpe County Sheriff's Office, the Arkansas State Police and the City of Denton Police Department (TX) announce the arrest of Michael Thomas Dusch, 29, from west end, Moore County, North Carolina. Dusch is charged with murder for malice, crimes, serious bodily harm, severe battery, exploitation of older people, false detention, obscuring the death of another, financial transaction cardief and identity fraud.

On Tuesday, February 25, 2025, the Sheriff of the Oglethorpe County asked the GBI to investigate a death in Winterville, GA. At around 5:00 p.m., the Sheriff's office of the Oglethorpe County reacted to a call about the discovery of man's body in Winterville, GA. The victim, who was later identified as David J. Stewart, was found on a property outside the Double Bridges Road and brought to the autopsy to the GBI medical examiner.

This investigation is active and continuous. Everyone with information is asked to contact the GBI Regional Investigative Office in Athens under number 706-552-2309.
