This version of the NCAP relay used an unusual order. The standard wisdom in mixed free seasons is to swim the boy boy girl girl, with the idea that a girl in the first two legs risk the back half of the season behind the opponent. For example, we saw this in the earlier record season, which was set in a competition pool.
However, this relay was so good that they were halfway independent of the rest of the field – even those who used an MMFF order.
NCAP was rewarded with an extra small thrust – Jilly Shiffletts Leadoff -split of 23.35 was best for her and improved on 23.41, which she swam in December. She also won the 50 Free 50 Fly, And 50 back individually at the Meet, with the 50 fly and 50 back the lifespan of the service life by at least one second. She remains the fourth best 13-year-old in the 50-Frree this season, albeit with a better time.
Other members of the relay with individual victories contain Harper Bartholomewwho won the 100 free girls in 51.55; And Finn O'Sheathe 100 fly of the boys won (51.08), 50 back (25.13), 50 fly (23.10), 100 free (46.11); and 100 in (53.62).
The old season comprises a number of swimmers that were successful at College level. Remarkably, this includes Camille Spinkwhich won the 50 free, 100 free and 200 free for the University of Tennessee at the SEC championship championship in February. Gentry swims at Virginia Tech, Sebring swims in Auburn, and laspida swims in the NCAA Division III Case Western Reserve.
